How do you split chores fairly at home without keeping score?

In Kotidy, recurring chores can rotate between members. Each chore is worth 1 to 3 points depending on how hard it is, and a fairness board shows each member's assigned load next to what they actually did.

There's no leaderboard and no rewards: the points are there to spot imbalance and talk about it, not to turn the home into a game.

Curious how others handle it. Does seeing the split help, or does it create more tension than it solves?
