Your App Store rank dropped overnight. How do you figure out why?

You know the moment: you check your ranks and a keyword you care about fell hard overnight.

Then the guessing starts. My last metadata change? A competitor's update? A slow week of downloads? Apple quietly changing search? Or did the tool just fail to read the result?

One thing I built into my Mac app for this: for every keyword it shows the apps just above and below you. If they all moved too, it's probably not you. And a failed check shows as unknown, never as a drop.

I'm launching it here on Nov 7. Before that: what's your first check when a rank drops, and how long do you wait before changing anything?
