The social media options that exist today don't make me feel particularly good. The inescapable pictures, videos, and short-form text posts are like junk food for the brain. No depth, no nuance, all by design to keep you scrolling.

When I tried to leave these short-form content casinos, I realized how few 'conscious scrolling' alternatives even existed. Email newsletters were a boon to my healthy habits journey, but were ultimately limited and fragmented (and my email inbox is evil).

Substack is meant to be a home for articles and newsletters, yet it's built around a short-form content feed. Even in the Read tab, discovery rewards good headlines, not good writing.

Jotsky is to Substack what TikTok is to YouTube: an immersive experience that fluidly guides readers through the content itself, instead of handing them lists of options to click into blindly.

By adopting these low-barrier user experience techniques, Jotsky makes reading and writing more approachable for an audience accustomed to social media interaction patterns. You don't need to be a well known author and you don't need clickbait headlines; if people like what you write, we'll show it to more people.

Jotsky is built from the ground up for readers and writers. open the app, get a Jot— a story, opinion, PSA, or anything else someone might write. scroll down to keep reading, swipe left to read something else. No character limit. Plenty of room for nuance, depth, and creative expression. If you like writing or reading, consider joining!

Jotsky is very new, and I'm very very new to end-to-end development, so any advice or feedback is GREATLY appreciated! Thank you!
