Hey Hunters, I'm Adarsh. I build AI agents, and I got tired of paying a search bill every time one of them did research.
Every agent I shipped needed search, and every search API wanted per-query rent plus my users' queries on their servers. So I built Jiro: the search API that runs on your own machine.
One self-hosted API. 9 engines (Google, Bing, Brave, DuckDuckGo, Yandex, Baidu, YouTube, Amazon, eBay), 12 social platforms, 22 MCP tools. And instead of handing your agent a pile of links, it returns claims — every claim cited to its source, so your agent can actually reason over the results instead of guessing from snippets.
The 0.4.0 query graph engine plans a research task, runs it in parallel, and returns those cited claims. Two commands to run it:
pip install jirosearch jiro serve
SDKs for Python, TypeScript, and Go. Plugs straight into Claude, Cursor, and Windsurf. MIT licensed, free forever.
I'd love your hardest feedback — especially on result quality versus paid APIs, because that is the real test. And if you try it today and get stuck anywhere, tell me here and I'll help you set it up personally.
