Hi, ProductHunt Rakesh here, a template maker turned open source component library
Hi everyone, I’m Rakesh from Surat, India 👋
I started out in 2013 as a PHP developer, quit within a few months, and have been building independently ever since. My @brijesh_dobariya co-founder and I run CodedThemes, a small team making admin templates and UI kits. Our Able Pro dashboard has crossed 7000 sales on Envato, and Berry and Mantis are two of our React templates many of you may have used.

Right now I’m working on UIAble, a React component library built on shadcn/ui and Tailwind CSS. The components are free and open source, and we’re adding Pro blocks and templates for people building products for clients. We’re launching UIAble here this Wednesday, Oct 28, and I’d love your honest feedback.
I’m here to learn from other makers, give honest feedback on launches, and share what we learn as we grow UIAble.
A question for the builders here: when you choose a UI library, what makes you trust it enough to use it in a real project?

Welcome Rakesh, 7000 sales on one template is a serious track record. For me trust comes from the boring components, not the pretty ones. I open the data table, the date picker and the form with validation errors, and check them in dark mode and with a keyboard only. If those hold up, the hero sections will too. The second thing is what happens when I need to change something the author did not plan for. The shadcn model of copying the code into my repo already answers that well, so I would say it loudly on the launch page. And a changelog that shows fixes, not only new blocks, tells me someone will still be there in a year. Good luck on Wednesday!
@gbasovv Thank you, this is really useful.
I agree with your checklist. The data table, date picker and validation states are where libraries usually break, so we’ll make sure those are easy to test in dark mode and with a keyboard. And you’re right about the shadcn model: the code lives in your repo, so you can change anything we didn’t plan for. I’ll say that more clearly on the launch page.
The changelog point is a good one too. I’ll make sure fixes show up there, not just new blocks. Thanks for taking the time, and I hope to see you on Wednesday!
@rakesh_nakrani1 Glad it helped. One small idea for the launch page: a live demo where the data table and the date picker sit already open in dark mode, so a visitor can tab through them in ten seconds without installing anything. That shows the boring parts hold up faster than any copy can. See you Wednesday!
