👋 Hi Product Hunt! I’m Irene, a developer from Italy building Bookmash.

I’ve been a developer for about 8 years, but building my own product has been a very different experience.

Bookmash started from a problem I had myself: I had plenty of bookmarks, organized into folders, but when I needed something again I often couldn’t remember where I’d saved it.

So I built a different way to use the bookmarks already in Chrome and Firefox, focused on finding what you saved rather than creating yet another place to save things.

The coding part is only a small piece of what I’ve been learning. I’ve been figuring out everything else as I go: talking to users, positioning, distribution, SEO, launching, and understanding what actually makes people care about a product.

I joined Product Hunt a while ago to launch Bookmash, but I’m sticking around because I genuinely enjoy seeing what other people are building and how they’re figuring all of this out too.
