Hi PH 👋 I'm Shaobin, building 100 apps with AI in one year

by•

Hey everyone! I'm Shaobin, a software engineer from China who builds AI tools in public.

My goal for the next 12 months: ship 100 apps with AI and earn ¥100,000 (about $14K) from them. I'm a one-person studio. AI coding agents do most of the typing, and I do the deciding. I'll share the wins, the flops and the real numbers along the way.

What I've shipped or am building so far:

- NunuPets: a cozy virtual pet game with no stamina bars, no daily check-ins and no guilt trips. Your pet never dies or punishes you for being away. It's heading to web game platforms soon.

- Lingxi (灵犀): a lifelike desktop cat that keeps you company while you code. Claude, Codex, Cursor or any MCP host can make it react to what the agent is doing, and it stays on the edge of your screen so it never gets in the way.

- Plugins for DeepSeek Harness (dsh): an ACP server so you can drive dsh agents from Zed, a free-tier model router with failover, a multi-bot workbench, a plugin security gate, and a doctor tool that repairs a broken install. They're all open source.

- ovo: an open-source, local-first proactive assistant for macOS.

- lenscn: real optical-refraction glass UI for the web, built with SVG displacement maps.

Something I believe: AI is an amplifier. It amplifies whatever context and judgment you bring to it. A hundred apps in a year is my way of finding out how far that goes.

I'm here to learn from other makers, find early users, and launch a lot of things. 😄 Follow along:

Say hi if you're building with agents, MCP, or making cozy games! 🙌

Welcome, Shaobin. I'm at the other end of the same experiment: one app, built mostly by agents, and a big part of the work is the notes the agent reads before each task. Over 600 commits in my repo touch those notes. With 100 apps I'm curious whether you carry one shared set of rules from app to app, or start each one clean. Agree on the amplifier: the judgment you write down is the part that gets amplified.
