Hi PH 👋 I'm Onur, indie iOS dev from Istanbul, I automate the boring parts of App Store Connect
by•
Hey everyone! I'm Onur, an indie iOS developer based in Istanbul.
I've been shipping apps on the App Store for a few years, and the part I always dread isn't the code — it's App Store Connect. Setting up one subscription group by hand is an afternoon of clicking through localizations, prices and territories.
So I started building tools for that:
• asc-subs — App Store subscriptions as code (open source, like Terraform for in-app purchases)
• writing about ASO at bytswise.com
I'm here to learn from other makers and give honest feedback on launches — especially dev tools and iOS apps.
Question for the iOS folks: what's the most annoying part of shipping an update for you? Screenshots, metadata, subscriptions, review rejections?

Welcome Onur, subscriptions as code is a great idea. My listing runs in about fifty languages, all driven by scripts against the App Store Connect API, so my answer is the API's surprises rather than the clicking. Two that cost me time. Apple's own locale reference lists bare codes for eleven languages, and the API rejects them; it wants codes with a region tag, and not one pattern per family either, Bengali needs the Bangladesh tag while Gujarati needs the India one. And only two review submissions can be in flight per platform, so an in app event and promo images sent on their own each take a slot, and the version you send next is refused with an error whose real reason is buried in the response's associated errors. If asc subs probes codes and surfaces those buried reasons, that alone would save people an afternoon.
