Hi PH, building a budgeting app that reads bank statements and e-wallets

Hey everyone, I am Abdul Rahim from Malaysia. I have been building BudjetBuddy, a 50/30/20 budgeting app

The thing I could not find anywhere else: it uses AI to read local bank statements and e-wallets (Maybank, CIMB, Touch 'n Go, GrabPay) and auto-categorizes your spending, and it is local-first so your financial data stays on your phone.

It is in beta right now (TestFlight on iOS, closed testing on Android) and I am aiming for a public launch in the coming weeks. Happy to answer anything about the build, the AI parsing, or the privacy side.

What do you all use to keep your own spending in check?

Hi Abdul, welcome! BudgetBuddy sounds especially useful because it’s built around local banks and e-wallets rather than treating every market the same. Keeping financial data on-device is also a strong trust point.

I’m Matthew from Korea, working on an adtech SaaS for app and web publishers. Curious—how are you handling the different statement formats across banks and e-wallets?
