10 Years in Engineering, and One Big Lesson About Building Startups— Hey Product Hunt!
Hey everyone! I'm Yuri, a software engineer, tech lead, traveler and founder!
I've spent the last 10+ years building software, leading engineering teams, and helping startups turn ambitious ideas into real products.
My journey started as a hands-on developer, but over time, I found myself increasingly drawn to the bigger picture: product strategy, business growth, solving customer problems, and building something from scratch.
A little about my background:
10+ years in software engineering — building complex SaaS platforms, B2B products, and scalable applications.
Engineering leadership — leading teams, making technical decisions, and taking products from concept to production.
Zero-to-one experience — working with early-stage startups where you wear multiple hats and learn to move fast.
AI & automation — building with generative AI, video and voice technologies, LLMs, and intelligent workflows.
Entrepreneurship — passionate about combining technology, product thinking, and business strategy to build products people actually need.
One thing I've learned over the years:
Building great software is hard.
Building something people are willing to pay for is even harder.
That's what makes entrepreneurship so exciting to me!
I'm particularly fascinated by how AI is changing the startup landscape.
Today, a small team — or even a solo founder — can accomplish things that would have required an entire company just a few years ago!
After years of helping build other products, I decided to put that experience into my own venture.
I'm currently building PostUGC (https://postugc.com) — an AI-powered platform that helps e-commerce brands, founders, and marketers create AI UGC-style videos, product demos, and social media content without traditional production costs.
I'm here to meet other builders, exchange ideas, learn from founders who've been through the journey, and hopefully share some lessons from my own experience.
Whether you're a first-time founder, experienced entrepreneur, engineer, or marketer — I'd love to connect!
What's everyone building these days? And what's been your biggest challenge so far?
