Init - APIs that build themselves

by•
Not just CRUD. Init composes AI, search, media, data, compute and jobs into any API you can describe, in any combination. One sentence in, a typed, versioned endpoint out, live in seconds, with an init.json any agent can use.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Paul, the maker of Init.

Most "AI backend" tools generate a schema and some CRUD routes. Init does something different. It treats every capability (reasoning, web search, browsing, image/video/sound generation, storage, databases, compute, email, scheduling) as a building block, and composes them into whatever API you describe.

You don't pick services or wire them together. You describe behavior, and Init figures out which capabilities that behavior needs, how they connect, and in what order. Then it ships the result as one typed, versioned endpoint, live in about three seconds.

A few things people have described:

  • "Take a product URL, research competitors on the web, write a comparison, and narrate it as a 30-second voiceover."
→ web search + reasoning + voice generation + storage, in one endpoint

  • "Every morning, browse these five sites, pull anything mentioning our brand, summarize it, and email me."
    → browser + reasoning + scheduled job + email

  • "Accept a photo upload, describe what's in it, generate three styled variations, and save everything to a gallery."
    → storage + vision + image generation + database

Any combination works. Since nothing is pre-packaged, the range of APIs you can build is as wide as what you can describe.

Built for agents too. Every project produces an init.json spec, so Claude, Cursor or any other agent can call your endpoints without extra setup. Published projects live at .

One price across everything: usage-based, with no feature gates and no limits on databases or keys. Tiers only govern concurrency and scale up automatically.

What's the strangest combination you'd want in a single endpoint? Drop it below and I'll reply with what Init builds.
