I'm Nykee, maker of HannahDream.
The problem I kept running into: every AI companion app I tried had the same failure ā three messages in, she forgot my name. The "long-term memory" was a marketing claim, not a system.
So I built the memory first, and put the chat on top of it.
What's actually different
š§ Memory you can see and edit. HannahDream proposes memories ("you work nights", "you hate small talk") and you approve, edit, or delete each one. Nothing about you gets stored silently, and nothing gets remembered that you didn't confirm.
š Five separate relationships, five separate memories. Hannah, Camille, Naomi, Valentina and Maya each keep their own history, their own memories, and their own photos. They don't know the others exist ā and that isolation is enforced in the database, not just written into a prompt.
š Relationship progress that isn't vibes. The stage (new ā warming ā close ā established) is computed by deterministic server rules with a fixed reason set ā kindness, shared interest, respecting a boundary. The model doesn't get to decide it likes you. And there is no guilt mechanic: no sulking, no "I'll be sad if you leave", no paying to prove your love.
š· Photos that stay safe by design. Fashion, beach, travel and lifestyle portraits ā fully covered, and every image is inspected before you ever see it. Adults only, no nudity, no real-person cloning.
Under the hood ā for the builders here: the whole thing is one Cloudflare Worker. Next.js via OpenNext, D1 for data, R2 for private media, Queues + Cron for image jobs, Durable Objects for ISR revalidation, KV for caching. No Node server, no separate image worker, no Postgres.
What's not shipped yet, so you don't have to find out: voice notes, short video and custom companions are not in this release. I'd rather launch five companions that hold up than twenty that don't.
