Gravity Notes - One list of notes, for you and your AI agents

Gravity is a notes app built on Andrej Karpathy's append-and-review note. Everything goes into one list, newest at the top. Old notes sink, and a swipe brings one back. You pay once, and your notes stay on your devices. New since the last launch: live Markdown, checklists, full exports, and a gravity CLI on the Mac that lets Claude Code, Codex or your own scripts read and write your notes. For iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android.

Hey Product Hunt friends, I'm Tristan. I build Gravity on my own in my flat in Germany. It's $9.99 once per platform, no subscription.

Gravity started with Andrej Karpathy's post about keeping one long note: add new things at the top, and every so often scroll down and move what still matters back up. This seemed like a cool idea to me after trying maybe every other PKM method available; however, copying and pasting things all the time to "bump" them got a bit tedious. Gravity makes each entry its own note in one list. Type, hit enter/return twice, and it's saved. Swipe a note right and it's back on top.

I launched the Mac app here in February. Since then I've shipped more than 30 releases across iPhone, Android, Mac and the command line. The ones that are interesting:

• The editor formats Markdown as you type. Start a line with - [ ] and you get a checklist you can tick straight from the list.
• A gravity command on the Mac. Claude Code, Codex or a cron job can search, add and edit your notes, with --json output and a --dry-run before you do anything destructive. Changes reach your iPhone through iCloud.
• Export everything as Markdown or plain text. On Android, Gravity backs up to a folder you choose every day.
• A short setup on first launch, bigger text sizes, and right-to-left layout for Hebrew and Arabic.

The CLI came out of my own use: I wanted to write something down and have my OpenClaw agent ask me about it in the coming days.

I keep saying no to folders, tag managers, and anything else that would turn this into just another notes app. If a feature slows down capture, it doesn't go in.

How would you use the CLI? And what still makes you open a different app to jot something down?

So...Apple chose today to take down all my apps while my Apple developer account renews, which it did a few days ago. Trying to fix, sorry everyone for the disappointment.

 Oh man, that sucks. Sorry!
You might need to "relaunch" so we can give it a try.

Really perfect timing wasn't it! I'll be sure to update you when they're available again

congrats on #14 Tristan, and on a day when Apple pulled the apps too! hope the developer account gets sorted fast.

Swiping a note right to bring it back to the top is such a simple fix for the copying and pasting that Karpathy's single note needs. The gravity CLI letting Claude Code read and write the same list is a nice touch too :) When an agent adds a note through the CLI, does it land at the top like anything I type, or is it marked somehow so I can tell it apart?

Thanks! CLI notes are currently the same as normal notes, but maybe I could at least tag them as such in the database so they can be recognised later. Thanks for the idea!

If I say this feels like the love child of Workflowy and Notes, would you make fun of me? :)

Seams not to exist on macOS/ or iOS AppStore

Which country? I'll try to get it published there. Email me at and I'll get you a promo code when it's available :)

As it turns out Apple chose today to remove all my apps until my Apple developer account renews, which it already did a few days ago. Thanks Apple!
I'll let you know when it's available.

 Available again :)

any idea about when this might be back in app store?

Unfortunately no, I'll be phoning Apple as soon as their lines open to see what they can do. I'll be sure to post an update when it's back!

Gravity for iOS and MacOS is back! Apple finally corrected their error, so the apps are available again on the app store. Apologies to everyone who was disappointed they couldn't try the app yesterday: please email for a promo code to receive the app for free :)

Thanks , sending you an email now.

Rough timing with the App Store, hope it's back soon. On the review half of Karpathy's method: can the CLI list notes that have sunk untouched for, say, 30 days? An agent could hand me "things you wrote down and forgot" once a week, which is the part I always skip when I do it by hand.
