Hi Product Hunt, I'm John. GradeKiln started because I kept finding grade calculators that were quietly wrong. Not maliciously. They take one American 4.0 scale and put forty flags on it. So I went and read the real tables instead. University handbooks, ministry PDFs, registrar pages that look like they haven't been touched since 2011. It took months, and I enjoyed it far more than I should have. Some of it is genuinely lovely. Denmark's scale goes down to minus 3. Not zero, minus three, so one bad mark subtracts from your average. In the Philippines 1.00 is the best grade and 5.00 is the fail. CBSE in India doesn't issue a percentage at all, however many sites will cheerfully calculate one for you. NTU won't give you Highest Distinction on CGPA alone, there's a final year project sitting underneath it. Every calculator on the site is built from that country's own published table. 63 of them, 41 countries. Where I couldn't get hold of a university's real table, the page says only what that university actually publishes and nothing more. Everything runs in your browser.
