Every developer has that one colleague they want to out-ship.
I built GitHub Battle Arena because I wanted to settle the argument that every engineering team has but nobody officially tracks: who actually coded more this sprint? Not opinions. Not feelings. Real commits, real PRs, real reviews, converted live into territory on a grid that any GitHub user recognizes on sight.
How the competition works:
1) Zero friction to start: No GitHub OAuth, no API keys, no account. Add a GitHub username (yours and whoever you want to challenge), pick a time window, and the battle runs. The app reads directly from GitHub's public Events API.
2) Scoring that reflects actual output: Commits earn 5 points, PRs opened 10, PRs merged 15, code reviews 8, issues 3, comments 1. Every 30 seconds, the grid refreshes with animated territory expansion. You can customize all weights per battle, so the fight is on your terms.
3) Built for any rivalry: N-player support with no limit. Challenge two people. Challenge your entire team. Spectators can vote on predicted winners without needing to ship a single line. Each participant gets a unique color with 4 intensity levels, so the map tells the story at a glance.
Run it during a hackathon with exact datetime windows. Use it to settle a Friday afternoon argument. Or just leave a battle running all week so everyone knows where they stand.
