Is slow reply handling killing more deals than bad cold messages?
Something I learned the hard way running outbound for my dev agency:
Everyone obsesses over the first message: the opener, the hook, the personalization. I did too.
But when I went back through our pipeline, the biggest leak wasn’t messages that got ignored. It was the warm replies. Someone would write “sounds interesting, how does it work?” and it would sit for two days because it landed in the LinkedIn tab while I was living in email. By the time I answered, they’d moved on.
Sending was never our problem. Responding was.
I’m curious whether others see the same thing:
How fast do you usually respond to a warm reply from outbound? Minutes, hours, days?
Have you ever measured how many interested leads went cold just from slow follow-up?
If you run outreach on more than one channel, how do you keep replies from slipping through?
My own take: a decent message with a reply in 10 minutes beats a perfect message with a reply in 2 days. Happy to be proven wrong.

Completely agree. Once someone shows interest, waiting even a few hours kills the momentum. Fast and simple beats a slow perfect message every time.
