Is it just me, or is every tool trying to become an all-in-one workspace?

Every app I check out lately wants to do everything. Notes, tasks, docs, calendar, team chat, plus an AI assistant squeezed into the sidebar and a huge dashboard tying it together.

On paper, having one tool for everything sounds convenient. In practice, I open the dashboard, get overwhelmed by all the clutter, and close the tab.

I really don't want to run my entire life inside a single app. I just want lightweight tools that do one specific job well, without constantly nagging me to upgrade to a higher tier. Most of the time, simple apps end up being much faster and less frustrating to use than bloated platforms trying to replace five other services.

I get why some people like having a single hub for work, but whenever I see a "your entire workflow in one place" pitch, I instantly want to walk away.

What does your setup look like right now—one massive app, or a few small, focused ones?
