I think every you should build apps for themselves first.
Recently, my Mac started running out of storage. Between Xcode, Docker images, AI models, screenshots, downloads, and random project folders, I had almost 90 GB of space I could reclaim but figuring out what was actually safe to delete was surprisingly tedious.
Instead of spending another hour digging through Finder, I built a small macOS app to solve the problem for myself.
It reminded me why I enjoy building software in the first place.
When you're your own first user, you don't need to guess what matters. Every feature comes from a real frustration, every improvement saves you time, and you get immediate feedback because you use it every day.
Some of the best products started this way—not from chasing a market, but from scratching a personal itch.
I'm curious how other makers think about this.
