Hey!
I built **EPUB Toolset** because working with an EPUB often feels more complicated than it should.
Sometimes you just want to open a book, fix its metadata, replace a cover, or extract the content—you shouldn't need to install a full desktop publishing app just to do that.
EPUB Toolset is a collection of focused, browser-based tools for EPUB files:
• Read and inspect EPUB files
• Edit title, author, publisher, description, and other metadata
• Replace EPUB covers
• Convert EPUB to clean Markdown
• Extract EPUB content as plain text
One thing I cared about from the beginning was **privacy**. Your EPUB isn't uploaded to a conversion server. Core processing happens locally in your browser, and you don't need to create an account.
I also wanted the tools to be non-destructive: when you edit an EPUB, the original file stays untouched and the tool creates a new file for you.
It's currently aimed at readers, writers, researchers, editors, and indie publishers who occasionally need to work with EPUBs without setting up a complicated workflow.
This is still an early version, and I'd especially love feedback on:
• Which EPUB tool you find most useful
• What EPUB workflow is still missing
• Any EPUB files or edge cases the current tools struggle with
Thanks for checking it out!
