Balancing Fasting & Deep Work: Does it actually work for you?

by•

Hey everyone! 👋

I've been experimenting with intermittent fasting for a while, not just for health, but specifically to look for that "fasted mental clarity" during heavy development sessions.

As an indie maker, I wanted to track whether my fasting hours actually correlate with my daily peak productivity. To do this scientifically, I ended up building Focus Fasting—a side project that hooks a fasting tracker directly into a Pomodoro timer to visualize what I call the "Golden Focus Window".

I'm curious about your experiences:

  1. Do you practice intermittent fasting while coding or working on your startups?

  2. Have you noticed a specific hour during your fast where your focus absolutely peaks?

Would love to hear your routines and insights on biohacking your productivity! 🧠👇

Adam! This hits close to home. As a remote worker, I inadvertently follow a similar pattern—late dinner around 10 PM and breakfast at 10:30 AM the next day, with just water in between. I’ve definitely noticed that my deepest focus happens in those late morning hours right before my first meal, rather than after a heavy lunch at 3 PM. Hooking a fasting tracker directly into a Pomodoro timer is a brilliant way to actually visualize that 'Golden Focus Window.' Excited to try Focus Fasting!

Hey Tehreem !

Wow, thank you so much for this comment! Hearing from a remote worker who validates the exact concept behind the "Golden Focus Window" means the world to me. That late-morning clarity right before the first meal is exactly the sweet spot I wanted to capture and track.

Since Product Hunt doesn't have a direct PM inbox, I'm dropping your unique Lifetime Premium Promo Code right here, but slightly masked so bots don't steal it:

CYF48-MCX406KQ35P3B-CZMK9 (Please remove the dashes when redeeming!)

How to redeem it:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.

  2. Tap your profile icon (top right) -> Payments & subscriptions -> Redeem code.

I really appreciate your support and would love to hear your thoughts once you test the charts and the custom Pomodoro integration. Let me know how it goes!
