Launching Finlingo on Friday, but wanted to share what actually worked going from 0 to 6.2M AUM and 218 users in 50 days.
1. Alerts beat dashboards (3x higher engagement)
Users don't want more data to check. They want to know when something needs their attention. We shifted from "here's your finances" to "you're overspending, here's why" and saw 3x more daily engagement.
2. Trust copy changed conversion by 40%
Doesn't matter what you're building. If users hesitate because they don't understand what happens next, you lose them. We added one clear sentence explaining what happens after signup and conversions jumped 40%.
3. Specific outcomes beat feature lists (2x better messaging performance)
"Track your spending" got ignored. "Know why you spent $800 more this month" got clicks. Concrete problems you solve will always outperform abstract capabilities.
Still learning, but these three shifted growth more than anything else.
