A few months ago, we launched an early version of FilesMagicAI focused on AI-powered file organization. Since then, we have redesigned and rethought the entire experience around a more natural, conversation-based workflow.

Why We Built It

Keeping a Mac organized still takes too much time.

Downloads folders get messy, desktops become cluttered, duplicate files pile up, old DMG installers stay forgotten, unused apps take storage, and developers often end up with huge caches and project folders eating disk space.

Traditional tools usually require rules, filters, or manual setup. That works, but only until your needs change.

We wanted FilesMagicAI to feel more flexible: simply tell the AI how you want your files organized, renamed, or cleaned up.

Privacy First

Your file and folder content never leaves your Mac.

For AI organization, only filenames are sent to generate an organization structure.

For Magic Rename, file content is processed locally using Apple Intelligence.

How It Compares

Tools like Hazel and Finder Smart Folders are powerful, but they depend on rules you define upfront. When your file organization needs change, you usually need to rebuild those rules.
