You asked for quick notes. So I built them into Fide Island. 📝

When I launched Fide Island here a few days ago, one of the comments said they’d probably use quick notes the most — especially when they didn’t want to open another window.

That made a lot of sense to me.
The whole idea behind Fide Island is to make those tiny actions that interrupt your workflow available right from the MacBook notch.

So in the latest update, I added two new tools:

📝 Apple Notes in the notch

Your notes stay in Apple Notes. Fide Island doesn’t create its own cloud copy.

You can now browse recent notes, search them, create new ones, edit existing notes, and open them in Apple Notes — without leaving what you’re working on.

🌍 On-device Translator

You can also translate text directly from the notch.

It uses Apple’s Translation framework on macOS 15+, automatically detects the source language, and supports English, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Turkish, Ukrainian, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.

Translation happens on-device, so the text isn’t sent to Fide Island servers.

I’m trying to keep Fide Island focused on small, genuinely useful actions rather than turning the notch into another complicated dashboard.

Notes and translation felt like a natural next step.
