Chrome only exports bookmarks as HTML — messy and hard to work with. Most extensions ask for unnecessary permissions or send data somewhere. Export Chrome Bookmarks: click the icon, get a clean JSON file with your full bookmark tree. No account, no tracking, fully offline. Only two permissions — bookmarks and downloads. A few KB total. Great for backups, browser migration, or keeping a local copy of years' worth of saved links.

Hey everyone! I built this because I was about to reset my laptop and realized Chrome has no simple way to export bookmarks as JSON. The built-in export gives you HTML, and every extension I tried either wanted too many permissions or looked like it was phoning home. So I made the simplest thing that could work — one button, one JSON file, everything stays on your machine. I've been using it for backups and moving bookmarks between work and personal profiles. Would love to hear what you think. If there's a format you'd want besides JSON (CSV, Markdown, etc.) — let me know, happy to add it if it makes sense.
