Hello! I built EthosBar out of sheer frustration. The turning point was a specific afternoon that ended in a thirty-second fix but cost me an hour of wasted debugging. I was losing my mind trying to figure out "why won't this work," only to realize the problem wasn't in my code. It was Cloudflare maintenance. One click would have shown it, but I wasn't looking at status page, I was deep in my terminal. I didn't want another browser tab open, and I definitely didn't want to pay for a tool that monitors over 7,000 services I’ve never heard of. I just wanted a simple "green light" in my menu bar for the stuff I actually use. The Evolution: It started as a tiny script for myself. Then, I realized that even when I knew a service was down, I hated reading those long, cryptic incident reports. So, I added Incident Pulse, which is an AI feature that summarizes the chaos into a single, readable sentence. EthosBar is built to be: - Native & Lightweight: It won't eat your RAM. - Minimalist: It stays out of your way until something actually breaks. - Honest: I call it "Ethos" because it's about a straightforward, clean approach to monitoring. I’m excited to hear your feedback! What services are in your core stack that you’d like to see added? Happy building!
