I originally started building EasyFileTools after noticing how awkward simple file tasks can be for small businesses and professionals. Something as basic as compressing a PDF can come with usage limits, and uploading invoices, reports, contracts or other sensitive documents to a third-party server (cough smallpdf 🤧 ilovepdf cough) is not good.

I kept running into similar problems myself. A lot of browser-based PDF tools are fine for basic things like merging or compressing, but once you want to actually edit a PDF, or convert a PDF properly to Word, Excel or PowerPoint, the options get much more limited or you end up needing paid software like Adobe.

So I started trying to support those things directly in the browser too. Editing PDFs, PDF to Word/Excel/PPTX, and other things that usually aren’t available in simple online PDF tools.

Then there were completely unrelated things I needed myself. I use a 3D printer, and sometimes I just wanted to preview or convert a downloaded 3D model on my phone before sending it for printing. So I added tools for that too.

Over the last year I basically kept adding tools whenever I came across something that felt useful in day-to-day use. That slowly turned into EasyFileTools with 80+ tools for PDFs, images, audio, video, QR codes, data, 3D files and developer utilities 🛠️

All the processing happens locally in your browser 🔒, so files don’t need to be uploaded to any server. There’s also no account, no install and no paywall.

Still adding things whenever I find something useful or annoying enough to build 😅 Would love feedback on what’s missing or what could be better.
