How do you compare supplier price list updates today?

I’ve been looking into how businesses handle supplier price list updates, especially when they receive a new CSV or XLSX and need to understand what actually changed.

A few things seem surprisingly manual:

  • finding which SKUs increased or decreased in cost

  • identifying new and removed products

  • checking how cost changes affect current margins

  • calculating a new selling price when you want to preserve the previous margin

I built CostRift around this workflow, but I’m especially interested in how people handle it today.

Do you usually compare supplier lists directly in Excel/Google Sheets, use an ERP, or have another process?

And which part of this workflow causes the most friction for you?
