Compact Contacts 1.1 is live — and what I’m testing for 1.2

Compact Contacts 1.1 is now available on the Mac App Store.

This release focuses on making larger contact-management tasks more deliberate:

• Preview Bulk Edit changes to organization, department, or job title before applying them.

• Create more powerful Saved Views with ALL/ANY conditions and saved table layouts.

• Remove only confirmed same-account exact copies after choosing the record to keep and completing the required recovery steps.

• Accessibility, localization, recovery guidance, and stability improvements.

I’m now testing the next set of workflows for v1.2:

• A Command Palette for quickly reaching contacts, Saved Views, groups, accounts, and safe actions.

• An Export Center for exporting a selection, search result, or Saved View as CSV or vCard, with the scope and contact count shown first.

• Per-card vCard import diagnostics, so problematic cards can be identified before anything is written.

• Contact Notes access, pending Apple’s approval of the managed Contacts Notes entitlement. The current App Store build does not read contact Notes, and this part will remain conditional until Apple grants approval.

These features are still being tested, so the final scope and release date aren’t locked yet. Contact processing continues to happen locally, with no new contact cloud or analytics.
