Hi Product Hunt,
My name is Noberto Pinheiro, and I'm a 16-year-old IB student at St. Paul's School in São Paulo, Brazil. Together with Enrico Mendonça, I developed CollegeGuide, a free platform designed to help students navigate the US college admissions process.
The idea came from conversations with Brazilian students who are currently studying at American universities. Many told us they only fully understood how the Common App worked when they were already completing their actual applications. Others mentioned how difficult it was to find someone to review their college essays throughout the process, especially without paying for expensive admissions counseling.
That's why we created CollegeGuide.
Our platform recreates the different sections of the Common App, allowing students to practice and become familiar with the application before completing the real one.
We also developed an AI admissions tutor that provides personalized feedback on college essays and guides students through the application process. Instead of writing essays for students, the AI identifies areas for improvement and helps them develop their own ideas and writing.
Our goal is to make the US college admissions process more accessible, especially for international students who may not have access to professional admissions counseling.
Since we have just launched CollegeGuide, we would really appreciate feedback from the Product Hunt community. We would love to hear what you think about the platform, which features could be improved, and what else we could add to make the admissions process easier for students.
