Hours before launch, my job-search tool stopped working. Here's what I fixed.

Hey Everyone! 👋

Launching today, and a few hours before, my AI stopped working. Here's what I learned.

A few hours before launch, cover letters started silently failing. Not the first impression I wanted for a tool people are trusting with their job search.

Turned out it wasn't a bug in my product — it was Google's newest AI model having a rough first few weeks (happens with every brand-new AI release, apparently). But that's not really the point. The point is what it made me realize: when you're mid-application, at 11pm, trying to get one more resume out before a deadline, "temporarily unavailable" is not an acceptable answer.

So today, alongside the launch, we shipped:

  • Real explanations instead of vague errors — you'll actually know what's wrong

  • A one-click way to switch to a more reliable option if your AI provider is having a bad day, so you're never just stuck

  • No more silent failures while you're in the middle of an application

CareerPocket AI is a job application tool where you bring your own AI (or run it fully private/local) — no subscription, no middleman company holding your resume data. Built by someone who's spent 25 years hiring and being hired, currently trying to make the actual process of applying suck less.

If you're deep in a job search right now — genuinely curious what's eating the most time for you.

...Tell me and I'll tell you if we've already solved it (or if I should). Best of luck too!

You're welcome to try it free. And if you like it enough to tell other job seekers, we've got an affiliate program to make that official, or if you're the type who wants to help something like this reach more markets, I'd genuinely love to talk. As a solo founder, always looking for good people to build this with. 🙏
