Calq - From Dynamo scripts to a BIM modeller you draw with AI
by•
A year ago Calq wrote Dynamo scripts for Revit. Now it is a whole BIM modeller in the browser, and Calq AI draws the same model you do. Give it a plot or a brief and it offers measured massing options; pick one and it designs inside it. A facade, a storey of flats or a street of buildings is one move from a built-in engine. Plans, sections, elevations, schedules and sheets come from the one model, to scale, and everything leaves as open IFC, DXF, COBie, gbXML or PDF.

Hi Product Hunt, Ahmed here, the maker of Calq.
A year ago we launched Calq here as a Dynamo script generator for Revit. We kept going, and Calq is now a whole BIM modeller in the browser.
What changed:
Calq AI draws the same model you do. Ask in words ("four storeys of flats over a shop") and it builds walls, floors, rooms and openings you keep editing by hand.
Massing first: give it a plot or a brief and it lays out several measured massing options. You pick one and it designs inside it.
Engines instead of placing parts: a facade, a storey of flats, a street of buildings or a dome is one move.
Drawings from the one model: plans, sections, elevations, schedules and sheet sets to scale, with automatic dimensions.
Open BIM out: IFC4, IFC 4.3, IFC2X3, COBie, gbXML, BCF, IDS, DXF, PDF. IFC, DXF and DWG come in as native elements.
ChatGPT, Claude or any MCP client can connect to your models.
The modeller is free with no install and no account to start, and your first Calq AI building is free. I'd love to hear what you'd build first and where it falls short.
