Bumpwise - Scan any food or skincare label for a pregnancy check

by
Bumpwise checks food and skincare labels against real pregnancy guidance. Point your camera at a barcode or the ingredient panel and get a plain verdict, with the actual source behind every flag (NHS, FDA, ACOG, CDC, Mayo, EPA). It reads the label itself, not just the barcode, covers skincare, and flags FDA recalls. Fully offline, no account, Data Not Collected. It never says safe, only no flagged ingredients, so your provider has the final word. iPhone and US only for now. Not medical advice.

Hi everyone. I built Bumpwise, so I'm biased 🙂 It started with a friend of ours. She got pregnant and kept texting my wife the same questions, can I eat this?, is this makeup okay to use?. My wife wanted to help but she's not an expert, and neither of us wanted to guess about someone's pregnancy. So I made the thing I wish they'd had: point your phone at a label and get an answer that shows you the actual FDA or NHS line behind it, so you can check it yourself. A couple of things I cared about. It reads the ingredient panel with OCR, not just the barcode, so it works even on stuff that isn't in a database, and it does skincare too (retinoids, salicylic acid, the INCI names). And it never says "safe", the best it says is "no flagged ingredients", because I didn't want an app talking over anyone's doctor. It keeps nothing. No account, no analytics, works on a plane. The library is 246 entries right now, and if something's not in there it says so instead of guessing. It's iPhone and US only for this version, and it's not medical advice. If it misses an ingredient or gets one wrong, tell me here, that's how the library grows. Happy to answer anything! TIA.
