I built a site that researches SaaS opportunities before you waste months building one

A lot of us have built products that nobody wanted.

The hardest part isn't building anymore it's finding an idea that actually has real demand.

That's why I built Build Signals.

Instead of generating random startup ideas, Build Signals researches markets the way an analyst would. It looks for real signals like:

  • Regulatory changes creating new markets

  • Companies actively hiring for a specific problem

  • New APIs or platform changes

  • Growing demand from developers and businesses

  • Weak competitors and underserved niches

Then it produces a complete opportunity report including:

  • Opportunity score

  • Market analysis

  • Competitive landscape

  • Customer acquisition strategy

  • Revenue estimates

  • MVP roadmap

  • AI coding prompts to build it

  • Evidence and sources behind every recommendation

Today I even published a fully researched opportunity directly through the Build Signals API.

The goal isn't to replace founders.

It's to help founders spend their time building things people are actually willing to pay for.

I'd genuinely love feedback from other makers:

  • Would you trust AI to help choose what to build?

  • What signals would make an opportunity convincing enough for you to start building?

Happy to answer any questions or hear feature requests.

One useful lesson from early feedback: founders do not need more ideas. They need enough evidence to make a decision.

The strongest example so far was an AI inference-cost governance opportunity. One founder used it to plan an internal dashboard tracking cost by user, feature, model, and request type.

Before you would commit two to four weeks to an idea, which evidence would matter most?

1. People already paying for workarounds

2. A regulatory deadline

3. Repeated complaints from a narrow buyer group

4. Weak existing competitors

5. Something else

I will use the answers to improve how Build Signals scores opportunities.
