bonds - Every friends' chat gets an AI friend with superpowers
by•
bonds is the messaging app for the next generation. Every friends' chat gets an AI friend with superpowers. Not an assistant: it gets your inside jokes, keeps the fun going, helps you pull things off together. A little unhinged 💀
"A week without TikTok?" It creates a challenge app with streaks, inside the chat. No downloads. Games, videos, stickers, too.
It remembers what matters to each of you, notices when someone's struggling, gets grumpy if you ghost it. You care for it, it cares for you.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm JD, co-founder of bonds.
This fall, personal AI agents went mainstream. Meta's Muse, Instinct: they book your dinner, fill your forms, chase your emails. Impressive, and all single-player: built for you alone, to get things done. But look at where Gen Z actually lives: in their friends' chats. Stickers, voice notes, random photos, TikToks. Almost nobody is building multiplayer AI for that. We think the next generation deserves one that isn't a tool: an AI that sits in the chat with your friends (or your partner), makes it more fun, helps you pull things off together, brings you closer, and shows up for you.
How we got here. bonds started as a messaging app where AI creates apps for your friends. It worked, but the apps weren't what kept people coming back. It was the AI itself: friends @-mentioning it to settle arguments, sing a birthday song, roast whoever skipped the gym. So we made it a friend, not a feature.
Now every chat in bonds gets its own bondi, an AI friend with superpowers. And each one is yours: pick its color and vibe, and it grows into your group's personality, from the gym-rat bondi to the beach-trip bondi. A few things to try with your friends:
📱 "a week without TikTok? easy" → bondi creates a streak app, everyone checks in with a selfie, the first to cave owes dinner
🌴 planning a trip → it makes the plan, and every photo from the chat lands in one shared album
🎬 "make a wrapped of our month" → a video starring all of you
🎂 someone's birthday → a song with your inside jokes, as a voice note
🤳 the worst photo of the night → instantly a sticker
📚 "calc test tmrw, I'm cooked" → a study streak so nobody skips
All right in the chat, nothing to download. Under the hood it's generative UI: bondi doesn't just reply with text, it generates real interfaces on the fly (apps, games, albums) that the whole group uses together and that keep updating as you talk. And it cares: it notices when someone's having a hard time, gets grumpy if you ghost it, and is a little unhinged in the best way 💀
Free on iOS and web. Bring your friends, ask bondi for something, and show us what it made 👇 Brutal feedback welcome, especially if you're Gen Z.
@juanchoabdon How does bondi make AI fell like a real part of the group chat instead of just anather chatbot
@shivam_kushwaha16 a chatbot waits for you to prompt it, and it talks the same way to everyone.
bondi lives in the chat and learns from it: how your group talks, the words and jokes you use, your routines, what you have going on. over time it starts talking like you.
it also decides on its own when to jump in. most of the time that means staying quiet or just reacting, and when it does say something, it sounds like it's part of the group.
Hey, Sebas here! co-founder of bonds with JD. Two things I'm really excited about with this launch:
1. A new category is expanding fast, but everyone is looking at one side of it: AI for one person, to get things done. The other side, AI that belongs to a group of friends and exists for fun, almost nobody is looking at. That's where we're building.
2. The distribution challenge. We're playing with a generation that already understands AI; they've used it since school. The challenge is taking it somewhere new: friendship, fun, the day to day. That's a very different game than selling to adults, and I love it.
If you try it, do it with your friends, not alone. And tell me what bondi made for you 🙏
@seb_linares Vamos!!
I started using it out of curiosity, and it's really fun to know that it's AI—but it doesn't feel generic; instead, it's very friendly 😍🥰
@natalia_zarate_rojas Thank you Nati! Feedback welcome
the intersting bet here is that bonds with bondi is AI for fun, not utility. We've mapped every productivity use case a hundred times, but fun is why the new generations are on their phones in the first place ready to interact with new AI products.
what's the weirdest thing a group chat has built so far?
here's my invite if you want to come break things with me: https://bonds.chat/w/fapfs
hehe love the character! but even more how the tool can help us on messaging. Congrats on the launch team!
@german_merlo1 Thank you! Give it a try and I’d love to hear your feedback right there in Bonds! https://bonds.chat/w/bpchx
good luck with this new launch
i asked last time, but i ask again in case sth changed: any plans for an android app? timelines?
@luca_ardito Thanks so much! 🙏 And yes, something changed since you last asked: Android is coming in about a month. I’ll make sure to reply here when it’s live. Appreciate you sticking around!
finally someone to hang out with when everyone else is asleep). does Bondi still reply if the chat goes quiet for a while?
@artem_durytskyi Yes! And it’s actually proactive: it revives conversations, remembers things, and keeps the group close, even when everyone’s been quiet for a while. Download it and try it out. Happy to hear your feedback, DM me on bonds https://bonds.chat/w/bpchx
