What should you check before changing unfamiliar code?
by•
We’ve been exploring a question with Atlas: what should you check before changing code you don’t know?
For this example, we used the Linux repository and traced connections around a file-reading function. The goal is to give developers a useful starting point for review, with the source available to inspect. Results depend on the indexed snapshot and trace depth, and may be incomplete.
When you join an unfamiliar codebase, what helps you find your bearings?
