Our ultra-fast Daily: Three takes on new products. Yesterday’s top ten launches. That’s it.

A new kind of napster

Remember Napster? The music-sharing app from the early 00s that’s now a streaming service. Well, a different kind of Napster just launched, and it takes the name quite literally.

CEO CAGE MATCH

Yes, you read that right. Elon Musk has challenged Mark Zuckerberg to the fight of the decade, and Zuck accepted. Who are you placing your bets on?

NO GATEKEEPING

What's one product you've discovered this year that you love? Share your secrets.

ROUGH WEEK FOR REDDIT

BlackCat, a ransomware group, is claiming responsibility for a February phishing attack on Reddit and demanding $4.5 million in ransom, as well API pricing changes. Oh, and yesterday the site was covered in pictures of TV show host John Oliver, also in an act of protest against new API prices. All together, now: What a time to be alive!

TGIM

Happy Monday, makers! Welcome to the 7,353 of you who joined last week. Your timing is perfect. We’ve just kicked off a fun way for us all to get to know each other better. Take a minute to introduce yourself to the community via a short video; we’d love to meet you. 🧡

QUICK QUESTION

Makers, we're exploring new ways to make posting product updates more frequent and impactful on Product Hunt. If we built a way for you to share incremental updates (written, video, or otherwise) would you do it?

Can’t go to the office if there is none

It goes without saying that if you want employees to embrace working from the office, you must first have an office. As of yesterday, that’s proving difficult for the Boulder branch of Twitter after a judge signed an eviction order on the company due to 3 months worth of unpaid rent.

GROWTH STUDIES

Appwrite wanted to increase its brand awareness and introduce its product to a larger audience. In a month-long campaign targeting core community members on Product Hunt and newsletter readers, they saw 2.1X better conversion than other paid channels and a 30% increase in GitHub visits. Whether you want to generate traffic, leads, or conversions, we can help.

No more DMs

Even more Twitter changes are on the way, this time to do with DMs. In an attempt to end spam once and for all, Elon Musk has hinted that soon only verified users will be able to DM people that don’t follow them.

REDDIT GOES DARK

In a protest expected to last 48 hours, Reddit moderators are taking some subreddits private in a stance against the platform’s plans to charge third-party app developers for access to the site’s data. Guess it’s going to be a dank meme-free Monday. Oh, and did you hear Apple is finally fixing the duck problem? It’s about ducking time!
