ZUCK V MUSK PART II

Threads launched everywhere yesterday (except the EU), and it’s already surpassed 30 million users to the delight of Zuck and the despair of Musk, but the story doesn’t end there. Twitter has reportedly threatened to sue Meta due to the similarity between the two apps.

Today’s Digest at a glance:

ZUCK V MUSK

It’s the day before Friday. Threads by Meta has entered the chat (everywhere except the EU). Are you an early adopter of Zuck’s Twitter rival? Let’s talk about it.

Please, just one more tweet…

If you were using Twitter over the weekend, you probably came across the error “Rate limit exceeded.” Turns out Twitter added a temporary limit to the number of tweets users can see per day. According to Elon, this is to combat massive scraping attempts. Regardless, we are honored to be one of your Twitter rations.

Gladiators are so back

Remember the whole Elon vs Zuck fight? Well, it’s apparently still going ahead, and Musk thinks there could be a chance it could take place in the Colosseum. As in, the gladiator arena from Ancient Rome. Yeah, we’re not so sure.

NOT FOLDABLE SUMMER

Welcome to Thursday. Remember Google’s cheeky ad from yesterday? Well, looks like Pixel’s marketing team poked too soon: People are reporting broken screens on their new foldable devices, less than 24 hours after its release. Ouchies. Anywho, have you seen this video of Domino’s using a jetpack to deliver pizza to Glastonbury festival? Pretty rad.

FAKE IT 'TIL YOU... CAN'T

The unicorn social app IRL is shutting down after an internal investigation by their board of directors found that 95% of its 20 million users are fake. In 2021, IRL reached a $1.2 billion valuation after raising $170 million in series C funding led by SoftBank, the same investment group that bought a $300M stake in WeWork in 2017.

SVB the musicial

Remember SVB? The startup bank that infamously collapsed earlier this year sending a wave of anxiety and stress to startup founders around the world. Well, someone is making a musical comedy about it. Would you buy tickets?
