gm legends
Today: a companion that circles the button you cannot find, a pair of eyes living in your notch, and an interview copilot that refuses to make anything up about you.
Marv — An AI cursor companion that shows you what to click
Imagine you're are staring at an app, you know exactly what you want it to do, and you have no idea which of the forty buttons does it. Marv sits next to your cursor, and when you hold a hotkey and ask, it talks back out loud while drawing on the screen: circling the control, pointing at the menu, writing notes over the top of whatever you are in. Finding the export option buried three menus down, working out a spreadsheet formula, getting through software you touch twice a year. Cameron has put as much into the character as the answers, on the theory you want something you would keep on the desktop.
Eney by MacPaw — A proactive AI assistant for your Mac
(sponsored)Most work mess is the small stuff: the follow-up that slipped after a meeting, the task that takes six clicks, the context switch that eats your afternoon. Eney, MacPaw's new AI assistant, connects to your email, calendar and files, surfaces what needs attention and helps you act on it, only with your approval. The Eney Preview is open now: join free and get 20,000 credits to put it through real work, no credit card or heavy prompting required.
Netra — A watchful notch with tools to keep you focused
Netra puts a pair of eyes in your Mac notch. They follow your cursor, one of them always a fraction behind the other, and after a minute of no mouse movement they get heavy and start to droop. Click them and the notch opens into the dull stuff: a focus timer, clipboard history, a shelf for the files you keep meaning to put somewhere, and music controls that reach Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube without opening any of them. Prince built the eyes first, because the notch was annoying him and he wanted something up there that felt like company, then put everything else behind them. We are so close to getting tamagotchis back I feel.
SpeechShield — Live interview & meeting copilot for Mac, from your resume
SpeechShield sits on your Mac during a Zoom or Teams call with no bot joining the meeting, transcribes each question as it lands, and the second the other person pauses, talking points appear in a small overlay. Everything in them comes from your own resume and the job posting, so when the honest answer is that you have not done the thing they just asked about, it tells you that rather than handing you a line. Load your proposals and price sheets and it does client calls the same way, with the source next to each point, and the overlay never shows up in a screen share.
