Apple folded the iPhone in half. Open, the Duo is the biggest display an iPhone has ever had. Closed, somehow still thin. Credit where it is due: this is the first genuinely new iPhone in years, an actual idea, not a slightly better camera and a millimetre off the corners. And yet I have been looking at it all morning trying to work out what problem it solves for me. My phone already fits in my pocket. It already plays video. The tablet it unfolds into is one I never asked for. Maybe I am the sceptic here, but that might be the achievement: Apple finally shipped something you can have an argument about.

Vibe Eyes turns a photo of your pet into a tiny head in the menu bar. The eyes follow your cursor. They blink. Sit idle long enough and they look up at you. The maker works from home, dog asleep two rooms away, so he put the dog where he already looks a hundred times a day. Months went on one frame: the closed eyelid. Get it a pixel wrong and there are white crescents through the lid, wrong-colour fur round the eye, and it stops being your pet. Free with eleven pets in it. Your own is $14.99, once.

Suno spent two years getting sued by every major label for training on their catalogues, and v6 is billed as the first Suno model built with the music industry. That sentence is carrying a lot of weight for its length. Warner settled and signed in November, BMG licensed its catalogue in August, and part of the deal is that the old models, the ones trained on music nobody agreed to hand over, get retired. So this is not just a version number. It is the company swapping out its own foundations while everyone watches, with Sony and Universal still suing from the sidelines. Seventh model release in under two years, and the first one the industry has a stake in.
