In my humble, 90's kid opinion, the golden era of tech took its final breath in October 2019, when Apple finally decided to sunset iTunes and the visualizer went with it. That was the one thing on your machine that wanted nothing from you and did nothing useful, and it was better for both. Bloop is that, rebuilt on a Mac that can export. Play anything and it draws what's coming out of your speakers live in eight styles, and it moves on the hits so the shapes follow the song. Drop a playlist in and it renders the whole run out as a video you can keep. And yes, my funeral music will be synced to an iTunes blob.

If you work with a coding agent you spend a surprising amount of the day taking a screenshot, cropping it, and typing three sentences explaining what's wrong with it. Assist puts all of that on one key. Hold option and it grabs the shot, opens an editor right there in the notch so you can circle the bit you mean, and listens while you talk over the top of it. What you say gets transcribed on the machine and comes out the other side as a prompt you can paste into Codex or Claude Code. Nothing reaches a server, because there isn't one, and it's a single payment.
