AGI, night shifts, Steam

gm legends

Today: a model that went looking through real software and found two holes nobody knew about, a calendar that puts your coding agent on the night shift, and a Linux desktop built to be taken apart by agents.

AGI is here...apparently
  • GPT-6 AstraOpenAI's most capable model for end-to-end work

GPT-6 Astra is OpenAI's newest flagship model and it comes packing a fairly hefty punch. According to the company it was pretrained on more than 100,000 GPUs in Texas, works a computer for forty minutes on jobs the last model needed seventy-five for, and, left alone with real software, found two security holes nobody knew were there. Greg Brockman marked the launch by saying the AGI era starts here, though the cyber capability is fenced off to vetted defenders for now and the model won't write a working exploit for anybody else.

  • ClockworkThe calendar where your AI agents show up for work

Clockwork is a calendar you book your coding agent into. Vimox Shah was paying for Claude capacity that sat idle eighteen hours a day while he did the same repo chores by hand every week, so now it gets a slot on the calendar and a dollar budget. The tests plant a fake secret in ~/.ssh and check the agent can't read it, he'll correct you if you call the app open source because only the sandbox is, and the runs need your Mac left awake.

  • OmarchyThe malleable OS for the age of agents

Omarchy is DHH's own Linux setup and version 4.0.0, which he's calling Quattro, is a proper jump. Linux keeps everything in plain files and text commands, which was always a chore to deal with yourself and turns out to be very easy for an agent to go in and change or fix. DHH picks all the defaults up front, agents make it cheap enough to argue with him, and it now ships with a skill that tells the agent how the system is put together, plus Steam installing straight from the menu.
