Which community platform would you choose for your startup and why?

Depends on your userbase. Our product/service is for stock traders, and soon crypto- which for stocks in generally a higher age than what you would expect to be on Discord. But our userbase moreso targets a younger audience- and Discord has also exploded with users who are trading stocks/crypto since the pandemic started. But our product also started as a Discord bot. We wouldn't even attempt to move ot another platform- we're 14,000 strong right now.

@dhruv_bhatia Mostly through promoting, offering incentives to users who invited users to the server.

@richw Great points, I think the question is nightmare for early founders as they are not sure what their users use... Maybe then anyway it is too early to start this group 🤔

Definitely depends on the kind of startup! A lot of more mainstream startups that aren't super techy or gamer focused are using using Geneva :) https://geneva.com/

It really depends on your industry, but I'd look for a platform with good video functionality. if you're looking to drive engagement, video is where it's at.
