What's your best networking tip for introverts?

We all understand the importance of community, useful acquaintances, etc. Often we are talking not only about business, but also about ordinary life. What should those who consider themselves introverts and feel confident only among friends do? Besides, to get a charming extrovert co-founder? 😅

Create a persona, we all wear all kind of masks, either online or in real life, both introverts and extroverts. You should separate personal life from business.

@chris_sarca Is it something like "fake it till you make it"?
Chris Sarca
@new_user_319cac3ad7e62 Not really, you don't need to convince yourself that you're someone else, your mask has to be convincing to other people you want to attract. Being an extrovert is not always a good thing, people are different and what someone finds charming, someone else might find it exhausting.

@new_user_319cac3ad7e62 @chris_sarca I have interesting idea. You can create QR with your contacts and print on t-shirt. And other people will connect with you on dif events) And you can use CRM, that understand what people scan your QR)))

Weel networking is quite complex for introverts. I'm mainly using 2 tactics: 1 bring a wingman. It is far easier to reach out to people when you have somebody at your side. 2 leverage your expertise. My favorite networking format is non-conference like mesurecamp. This format allows participants to be speakers. By being speaker you can show your expertise in a structure environment (aka presentation instead of small talk). If you display enough expertise, people will come to you and do not need to go to them.

@fabian_maume Great advice! The questions that can be addressed will probably be on the topic of the presentation, which means opportunity be more confidence in the dialogue. Thank you!

Marketing analytics is an important aspect of the field and it's a great niche for introverts. If I do say so myself. :]

Start online, so when you meet in person you are not strangers. =)

Remember random sh*t about people that seems really trivial and bring it up later. It makes people feel special and seen. E.g. if you're in a team meeting or group context and someone mentions that they were late because they were taking their daughter to soccer practice, next time, you can ask, "How's your daughter liking soccer? Is her team crushing it this season?"

@bitesizedbeta Wait, this is really good advice. Noticed this with the charismatic people that are in my life

@bitesizedbeta Sounds cool! There is a similar advice, not exactly about introversion, - treats the conversation like a detective. You should be interested to know more details.

@bitesizedbeta This technique definitely works. The challenge is making enough room in my brain to remember all these seemingly random "sh*t" (details).

Talk as if they were a bystander on the street and you will never see them again

1) realize that being an introvert isn't an excuse 2) realize that you lose nothing for trying. Even if you get a "No" from a stranger, this is no worse than not trying at all
