What's better for backlink SEO: link insertion on blogs, or guest posting on blogs?

Better in which sense? Link insertion is certainly easier (I'm working on an outreach tool which lets you write a personalized outreach mail in a minute). But then the reply rate is low (why would people add you link anyway) and then you will be linked on a page where there are already 10+ links to other tools -> lower DR impact. Guest blogging needs more time, but the DR will most probably be higher. Personally I only did outreach. From 40 website owners I contacted I got 14 backlinks and this was enough to push me on first page on Google.

@philkellr your outreach tool would be ineffective, of course, if you did not tell people what value we, the users of your tool, can provide for them. My value to others is this -- if they're posting something like "10 best dog beds," they don't want to be out of touch/out of the loop while my dog bed is racing to the top of the charts. So, I tell them to update their lists with my dog bed. And most of the time, they do.

Link insertion is better approach when page having authority , Traffic where you want to place link , because most of the website having homepage traffic only so consider it

If you try link insertion then you will get more traffic rather then guest post. but guest posting is good practice to gain good authority. you can try here: https://allresultbd.com/
