What drives you to create?

Software creation is a form of art. It's meditation, it's taking your mind for a walk, it's a certain way of spending your time while leaving something useful behind. There are many answers. I know it's also a source of income but after all these years I realized no one does it ONLY for the money. At least I've never met a person who hates to do it but keeps it up just to earn the dollars. So I guess something more must be behind it, for everyone. What is your drive? What is your credo?
