We are building a Chrome extension that is able to read PAID articles on media webpages E.g. NewYorkTimes, and Economist, and write them out for you. As a founder, I am usually searching for highly valued articles to validate Ideas. It can cost a lot to buy multiple subscriptions to multiple news pages just to see if the article is even relevant to what I am searching for. We are creating a plugin that displays articles without paying for them. Note: If the article does give you value pay for it after. Good journalism should be paid for.

Don’t forget copyright issues. I suggest you to take a look at 12ftladder wich is popular, you’ll find some responses.

@abdou_mrehouri Thanks for feedback, will definetly need to put that in Terms of use! Also thanks for 12ft pointer, looks like it is addressing a similar pain.

@markobalazic maybe it can be a great idea to build a paywall summarizer extension. Or beyond, website summarizer focused mainly on articles summarization. I’ve tried many tools for this purpose and all are deceiving. Too short summary and most importantly AI miss the purpose of articles. Some subtilities are ignored. Many would be happy for a more focused and depth oriented articles summarizer. Most of the time i remove paywalls on 12ft and get surprise by shity content of the article. Note that summarizing is legal and appreciated time saving.

@abdou_mrehouri Yes, one idea was to do that or either. That definitely makes sense for people that already have 12ft like you, but for those that don't...

What are you using for payment infrastructure? I'm building a payment infrastructure app to enable usage based billing for OpenAI apps. Would this be useful to you?

@david_frankle Tell me more. How are we going to be able to implemented it? Right now we are planning on plugging in @Gumroad and some kind of credits if there is an interest for plugin.

@markobalazic that's weird -- it's working for me. email me at dfrankle2@gmail.com
