The first version of GetReminded was a self-funded Wordpress website where we sent out the reminders manually by email, in batches!! It was the simplest way to start but it proved there was a need for our reminder platform.
In the positive user feedback we got so many comments like "I need this in my life - but I want it as an app." This gave us the confidence to source Angel funding to build v1 of the app with the functionality to send automatic reminders (both app notifications and email) based on the 'trigger date' that users entered.
We're now on app v3 and it's getting better and better!

Hey Tim, congratulations on making v3! Love that you guys started out manually sending the reminders, really hacking things together. We are currently still working on building v1, meanwhile collecting feedback from friends and people in the community on problems they faced in handing and taking over roles(HOTO) so that we can prioritize features to work on in our v1. What I've learned thus far and from previous experience was that we should never go ahead and build our product without doing extensive market research!
