Takeaways from Launch - As Requested 👍(Cautionary Tale Included)

Hello, it’s Xavier again! Thanks again for the Support! . Launched Dumbbell AI, Motion Tracking Fitness app on Dec 5. As we had 118 replies on one of our discussions, many were asking about our takeaways. So here I am after resting, sharing my takeaways. Heres are the Takeaways: Amazing Community Engaging deeply with the community is Paramount for Launching in Product Hunt. I did not expect to have a discussion post that engaged this many people with many replies 🤯. It was what made me type non-stop for 11 hours - could not just leave you guys hanging! I wrote a discussion post thinking about what the community would like to read. Amazingly, many of you responded! 7 Hours of Not Being Featured (Caution) This may not happen to everyone. Previously, I had my launch page accidentally launched 3 weeks back. Got it deleted, rebuilt Dumbbell AI's following and launched again. In the first 4 hours, we had decent upvotes and replies. I think it was about 50 comments and 50 upvotes. But we were not featured. We were confused and contacted support via the intercom widget - No reply. A few of you suggested contacting support via email and finally we got featured 7-8 hours later. May have lost some engagement here. Take away here contact Product Hunt Support ASAP via Email if anything is amiss Target Audience Since our target user group on Product Hunt is limited, understandably the traffic wasn’t too high but the attention it got definitely was. We had feedback personally from people that were actively working out. This was enough data for us to iterate our Product and lead us into the right direction. The data that the feedback had gotten was enough to reiterate our Product. We finished ranked #11, but Hey it’s not about the ranking. Thank you for the feedback, confidence you guys have given me!
