Should your blog be on your own site or on another platform?

Creating a good looking and functional blog can take lots of time, but at the same time, you can use a platform like Medium and only worry about the content.
If the blog is on your site, SEO-wise it would be better, but in the end, you can always redirect back to your site from a blog setup on another platform, which will bring traffic as well.
What do you think? Would love to hear different opinions :)

@skateboardgeek My question as well! The only benefit I can see is that having it on another platform, you save time from building it on your own. Which might help if you are still in the MVP phase. Does that make sense?
It’s a no brainier, you want authority on your site and not elsewhere.
I would suggest doing it on your own site to get traffic to. Then use Medium and other sites to gain DR and traffic.
