Hey guys, please roast my product idea. πŸ™πŸ‘‡ Do you ever have trouble making an explainer video for your side project? Like suddenly forgetting what you want to say and displaying next, so you have to stop recording and start all over again? Feel difficult to edit your recorded video, like cutting off unwanted parts, magnifying key details, removing background noise, adding some visual and sound effects in your screen recording, etc.? To help indie makers and startups to make a beautiful explainer video smoothly like a pro and without any design skills required, I want to build a one-stop tool with all the features needed to get this work done with simple clicks, as well as export your edited video in any preferred size you need to post on social media platforms, send via emails, or add to your landing page. What do you think of this idea? I would love to hear your thoughts! Or, do you know or use a great tool to accomplish this already? What is it? What do you like most about it? I really appreciate any help you can provide. πŸ™‡β€β™€οΈ

I'd say it will be hard to design because founders come from all different perspectives : tech, AI, blockchain, Art, Restaurant... So making an app for everyone should be pretty difficult.

Building Kapwing costs $10m++ in dev cost. Instead you should find a much smaller niche within this space. An unsolved pocket of opportunity. Something that can one day maybe become kapwing 2.0. Maybe something in the infrastructure, maybe a place for inspiration. top demo videos etc. Producthunt for demo videos? DemoVideoHunt? that would cost 100$ and a weekend to build. Then expand from there, maybe you start hosting videos. Or offer affordable freelancers to make sick demo videos. Then when you have traction you can raise funds to build out the platform to have editing features maybe. or offer stock videos etc. But dont try to build kapwing / iMovie from day1. Start with the most potent idea for less effort that you can find. Final note: Its also better to try and solve a problem that not many people are trying to solve. Usually problems we have our selfs are already saturated with people attempting to solve them. So it's a red ocean problem. A better strategy would be to try and find a blue ocean idea from some expertise few have. Say you had a summer internship in dolphin conservation. And they spent a lot of time tagging dolphins and data was inaccurate etc. Here you have a customer. The dolphin conservation org. And a blue ocean problem that no one is looking at. So maybe the problem you can solve here is better wildlife tagging SaaS or GPS chips that use the latest satellite connectivity that apple is fronting right now in their phones. So now is the right time to solve this because HW is cheap for this. Or maybe some monitor service for wildlife migration now with climate change etc. Here you might get lots of funding from Gov etc. Blue ocean ideas > red ocean ideas

Try Floik (Www.Floik.com). This solves 90% of all the problems that you mentioned above. For example, if you stop midway, you can record from the place where you stopped and stitch videos together. You can zoom in and zoom out some parts, add a voiceover or music, etc.
